The Anchor East house concert venue is generally made
available to friends or people whose music I know and respect. So
far
we've had (not listed in chronological order):
- Mark Graham/Tom
Sauber
- Alan Jabbour
- American Cafe Orchestra: our very first house concert,
this classic band pioneered American, Irish, Scandinavian, Hungarian
ethnic fusion, led by one of
the great young
American fiddlers, Seattle-based Ruthie Dornfeld
- Martin
Hayes: great solo Irish fiddler;
- Nightingale:
New England/Celtic/Canadian dance music and songs;
- Bruce
Molsky: premier younger old-time fiddler;
- Athena
Tergis/Laura Risk; West Coast Celtic (Irish/Scottish)
fiddlers;
- Jerry
Holland: great traditional Cape Breton fiddler
and tunesmith;
- The Moosetones: wonderful Maine-based dance band,
with Bob Childs, John Gawler, Smokey Robinson (just kidding), Maggie
Ericson;
- Mark
Graham and Orville
Johnson: Kings of Mongrel Folk!
- BobCarlin
- Anne
Lister
- Duane Coty
- Del Rey
- Taconic Tonic: Dance-fiddle
favorite George Wilson with Becky Ashenden and Chuck Corman playing
a variety of foot-stomping Cape Breton, Balkan, Scandinavian & Uncle
Dave Macon tunes.
- The Chiddle Fix: (now
known as Halali) A newly formed traditional Celtic band featuring
Boston-area "Young
Turkette" fiddlers Hanneke
Cassel, Laura Cortese, and Lissa
Schneckenberger: guaranteed to raise the roof!
- Randal Bays and Áine
Meenaghan: A great West Coast fiddler and guitarist (well-known
for his work with Martin Hayes) performing with a terrific Sean-nos
singer from Connemara - a rare treat!
- Sean-nos Singing Workshop with Áine Meenaghan
- Matt Glaser & John McGann:
Local fiddle demi-god (described as "possibly America's most versatile
violinist") along with special guest John McGann, renowned Celtic
and Bluegrass guitarist. \
- Orkestra Keyif: Unlike the young Turks listed above,
this is a band that plays real Turkish music. A phenomenal
evening!
