Anchor East
Anchor East (my name for my home) was built in the early
1900s by a shipbuilder; it has a vaguely nautical, as well as an "Arts
and Crafts" feel. The concert room has high-beamed ceilings, a raised
floor semi-stage at one end, and a 30+ foot extent which seats up to 50
people. Apparently the ship-builder built the house for two schoolteachers
who liked to host dramatic recitations; so I like to think our house concerts
are carrying on a longer tradition of people creating their own art in
their own communities.

(The large recumbent cat pictured above no longer resides at Anchor East,
however you can hear Mark honor him musically in the tune "Luther",
a cut from his record of tunes Race
the River Jordan)
